Starting this May long weekend, Parks Canada will be welcoming visitors for the 2017 season. And to celebrate Canada 150 – all national parks, historic sights, and marine protected areas are free to all visitors.
This summer we want Canadians from across the country to connect with our natural and historic gems. It’s a perfect time to experience the outdoors, and to learn more about Canada’s heritage.
We are also launching the Parks Canada Mobile App to help you on your adventures. It will be launched on May 19th, and the app has information on Parks Canada places, details on special events, interactive maps, points to help plan trips, and fun photo filters activated by your phone’s GPS!
The Parks Canada app is available for free on IOS and Android, and can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play, or found here at www.parkscanada.gc.ca/app.
Our national parks, historic sites, and marine conservation areas represent the very best that Canada has to offer. They tell stories of who we are, including the history, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples.
Get out and explore these natural and historic wonders. The FREE Parks Canada 2017 Discovery Pass is available from the Parks Canada Website as well as at Parks Canada entry gates and visitor centres.
Please note that only admission is free for 2017. There are fees for enhanced interpretative programs and recreational services and products such as camping and firewood, fishing permits, and overnight backcountry use.
