Our government is intent on empowering all Canadians so they can build better lives for themselves and contribute to, and share in, the prosperity of the country. We recognize the remarkable contribution that Canadian seniors have made to our society and economy over the years. We continue to take measures to ensure seniors can enjoy the fulfilling lives that they very much deserve.
The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) call for proposals, open until June 23, 2017, is seeking proposals for projects led or inspired by seniors. Organizations are invited to apply for funding for projects that promote positive aging and empower seniors to initiate and participate in activities that benefit the community. Eligible organizations can receive up to $25,000 in project funding. More information on the application process can be found here.
I am encouraging our local organizations here in Scarborough North to submit their NHSP projects to ensure that older Canadians are provided with a wide range of opportunities to get involved in local activities that address their needs and interests, and to share their knowledge and experience to the benefit of community members of all ages.
